St George originally secured planning permission for 319 apartments, and Design Delivery Unit were then appointed to optimise and deliver the scheme whilst working alongside the concept architects to secure a successful Section 73 application with an increased number of apartments and revised design.
We have undertaken several optimisations exercises on the project to maximise the value of the site and improve buildability. This has been through the careful redesign of apartment layouts, façade fabrication and operational strategies.
Utilising previous heritage experience, we have also detailed and overseen the refurbishment, remodelling and new insertions of the two listed buildings on site.
The scheme consists of 6 interconnected buildings varying from 6 to 16 storeys on a tight island site. The building form consists of a series of set back terraces.
One building is now complete, three of the buildings are due to complete by May this year and the remaining two are due to complete by March 2023.
